![]() The New Jersey County Jail Wardens Association is heartbroken at the passing of a Warden Scott E. Nodes (Hunterdon Co., retired). The Nodes family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 9 Red School House Rd, Lebanon, NJ 08833 Scott E. Nodes, 58, of Greenwich Township, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at New York Presbyterian Columbia University Hospital in New York. Born on September 15, 1967, Scott was the son of the late George Nodes, Sr. and Esther (Smith) Nodes. He was a graduate of Delaware Valley Regional High School and proudly served the community for over 23 years, retiring as the Warden of the Hunterdon County Jail. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter who loved camping and traveling. Scott had a passion for working with youth and giving back to his community. He coached youth basketball with the Greenwich Township Recreation Association and served as treasurer of the Phillipsburg Area Colts. Scott was deeply committed to education and public service. He served on the Greenwich Township PTO and most recently the Board of Education for 12 years and was also a delegate of the Warren County Board of Education and the New Jersey State Board of Education. In addition, he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP #29) , NJ County Jail Wardens Association, and American Legion Mecsey Bishop Post No. 456. A man of strong faith, Scott was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Clinton Ward. He is survived by his beloved wife, Michelle (Gregory) Nodes; his daughters, Desiree Wulff (Michael) and Hadley Funes (Alexis); his brother, Cody Nodes (companion, Liz); his sisters, Debra Spressart (Gary) and Liza Bilyj (Michael); his stepsisters, Rachael Ditmar (Bobby) and Sara Dilley; and his stepmother, Rosemary Dilley. He is also survived by his in-laws, John and Mary Gregory; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Scott also leaves behind his beloved pets, Odin, Poppy, and Bella. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bruce Cobb, Robert Cobb and George Nodes, and by his sister, Laura Travitz. Additional information here. Enter |
